After many months of behind-the-scenes conversations and brainstorming, today we’re launching a brand new partnership with GetYourGuide to offer of a suite of educational resources designed to make a meaningful difference in everyone’s tour businesses, and improve our industry.
A collaboration of this scale and scope has never happened before in our industry. It’s very new, and over the past months it’s been a lot of work to get it off the ground. We’re excited to final share the news.
Starting October 1, and continuing through the coming year, you’ll begin to see a host of educational resources and events that will help you connect with each other and strengthen your tour businesses, 100% free to you. The resources will cover all the foundations of a healthy tour business, diving into topics like pricing, distribution, content, and marketing strategy, and so much more.
The opportunities offered will be useful whether you’re a seasoned operator, or brand new to the game. In fact, part of our initiative is to welcome brand new businesses into the industry and give them the opportunity to succeed.
We all know very well that working with online marketplaces is a much-discussed and hotly-debated topic in our community. At their best, the value proposition they provide is very simple and powerful: you get more sales from global customers who’d otherwise be impossible to reach on your own.
But the reality of working with marketplace partners is painful if solid business foundations aren’t set up, and the right strategies are employed.
Through our collaboration with GetYourGuide we’re creating initiatives and conversations to change your business, and improve our industry. Our shared goal is to help each member of the community grow sustainably, differentiate to improve your margins, and find new incremental customers.
So, as a preview of the year ahead, here are just some of the new offerings coming your way starting in October:
- A new series of free online courses and workshops. And what better way to start than with pricing strategy? Our first pricing course launches October 1, and features Peter Syme sharing pricing strategies that he’s learned through over 25 years of tour operating.
- Free Sales-Focused Weekly Business Coaching. Starting October 7, each Monday we’ll be offering the whole community special small-group business coaching sessions focused specifically on developing your sales and distribution strategy. We’ll focus on different kinds of businesses, niches, regions, and feature experts from around the world. This does not replace our current business coaching program, but is a special extra bonus open to everyone.
- The Tourpreneur USA Road Show. We’re most excited about this one. In December, January and February, the whole TP team + various special guests will be hosting meetups and workshops all across the USA, especially in cities that don’t get visited often. This is the start of many more trips, helping to facilitate new partnerships and connections within regions around the world.
- A pre-ITB sales-focused event in Berlin on March 3, held at GetYourGuide Headquarters and led by the Tourpreneur team and guest expert operators. It’s a chance to gather before the big show, and learn with Tourpreneur’s signature hands-on workshops.
- Sharing rich, actionable industry data and helpful content. As a global marketplace, GetYourGuide has a trove of unique industry insights that we’ll help translate and share with you all to make more informed decisions about your specific markets and customers.
We’ll begin to share these valuable new resources in an all-new, central Tourpreneur Sales Hub, at tourpreneurplus.com/sales, starting October 1.
We’re appreciative of GetYourGuide for taking the risk and initiative to collaborate with us, with the shared goal to raise up the entire Experiences industry. Here’s to an incredible 2025 ahead.
